Ellie is TWO months old!! What!!?
I know this post is super late but life threw us a massive curveball + sitting down to write was the furthest thing from my mind. I am pleased to be able to jot down a little Eloise update because ugh, you guys, she is literally an angel. A true blessing.
I’ve said it before + I’m fairly certain I will continue to say it, I never knew I needed a daughter until Ellie arrived. She is so sweet and calm and has the most incredible eyelashes. They legit curl at the ends + I’m over here hella jeally.
Hard to believe this little missus is two months old but here we are! Ellie is wearing size 3 months clothes + size 1 diapers. Her thigh rolls are easily my favourite thing because they’re really blossoming + I know they’ll only get chunkier! Baby rolls are the freaking best thing ever, hands down.
Eloise is still an incredible sleeper, I think she wakes up once at night (?) and when she does it’s the sweetest little grunting sounds and I roll over + nurse her. Easy peasy and we are all getting sleep! The joys of co-sleeping! Oh, and have I mentioned that all four of us are sleeping in the king size bed!? YEP. It can seem a tiny bit crowded as George loves to sleep in the weirdest positions (oh, toddlers!) but we all get a good rest + that’s all that matters. Plus, not going to lie, when I wake up in the middle of the night (I think I’m still anticipating being needed more in the middle of the night/WHY AM I WAKING UP FOR NO REASON?), I look around my bed + all my favourite people are there! Oh, and the cat. It makes me feel safe and comforted to know that my peeps are under my roof and in my bed. I know how quickly these years fly by + having these still and quiet moments in the middle of the night give me life.
I am a milk maid so Ellie is a pretty happy camper and she nurses incredibly well. We haven’t had any issues which is a total blessing. She also loves her Wubbanub soother which for those of you who follow me on Instagram (@hollybowmanxo) or on FB will often see a pink little stuffy sticking out of the Ergo…yep, that’s her soother. George never took a soother but holy moly, what a game changer it is. It’s nice to have the ability to soothe Ellie when we’re in the car + I’m the one driving! And having Hubs be able to soothe her back to sleep with her soother. It’s a really helpful tool and I am fortunate that she does not have any nipple confusion. I mean, she is literally so smart–when she’s done eating she will turn her head and I will give her the soother and she will pass out. She is so different than her brother was. It’s so fun to learn more + more about this little love of mine.
Eloise, my sweetheart, you love: nursing, your soother, taking baths with mommy, watching your brother, smiling BIG (and ON DEMAND!!), and cuddles with your mama + daddy. Ellie, you love the motion of the car and generally don’t mind travelling and sleeping in your car seat. You love to snooze in the Ergo 360 and although you spit up so much + are kinda the projectile queen, you’re so happy about it. Baby girl, you like to sit in your little chair and look outside + squeak/squawk at your toys (especially that pesky sheep that hangs above your chair). You’re a dream.
Eloise, my darling sissie girl, you do not love: having your sleep interrupted (although you handle it gracefully!), when the car stops moving, being hungry and when mama doesn’t whip out the nummies fast enough (haha!), and being cold. Oh, and gas. You hate having gas and girlfriend, you out-toot the boys! I’m proud!
Oh what a dream and a privilege it is to be a mother to two beautiful, healthy, and happy children. Ellie, you are an angel and I thank my lucky stars that you chose us to be your parents. We are all so in love with you + I am so enjoying our cuddles and nightly chats (it’s pretty cute!). I can’t wait to learn more about you and make a ton more beautiful memories alongside you. You make me so happy and proud. I love you princess.
