This past weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving + the four of us always make our way to Ottawa to celebrate with my family. I love that year after year, it is the one holiday we pack the family in the van + make the 5-6 hour drive to enjoy delicious food and the company of family, no fail.
It is one of my favourite weekends as it really (in my opinion!) is the true beginning of fall and the holidays. Leaves are starting to fall, pumpkins are making their way onto porches + steps, and the air is crisp. Thanksgiving for me is all about spending time with family and there is nothing (literally, nothing!) I love more than watching sweet young cousins and siblings playing together. It’s noisy but so heartwarming. We explored a little farm + took a hilarious and short train ride too! Petting animals, pumpkins, and loads of outdoor play!
This past weekend, George and my nieces (and sometimes Eloise when she was awake and up to “play” with the big kids) played together non-stop. There was giggling and little voices chattering + imaginations running wild–it was so amazing! Family holidays are all about the kids running off to play–I remember very fondly my childhood holidays + they all were about the cousins playing old school Nintendo in the basement or sitting together watching episodes of the Simpsons. The memories we made! The inside jokes we will always have! The BEST!
ANYWAY.
It was a wonderful weekend and I was lucky enough to celebrate my 32nd birthday (one day early!) with my family! Yep, I’m 32. And yep, that means I’m really, truly, officially in my thirties. LOL.
30 was a big year for me and 31 was incredible too but gosh, 32 makes me feel really deeply rooted in my thirties and I welcome it with open arms. Like, the widest open arms ever.
This past year has been such a transitional year for me–going from a mama of one kiddo to two has really pushed + tested me; I have grown so much. I am thankful for my children for they continue to teach me. And I feel so grateful for my darling husband for being by my side while I navigate motherhood to two little rascals while being at home + working. It’s been hard you guys. Like, really hard. And really exhausting. And really humbling and beautiful and the greatest gift.
With all that being said, I’ve decided that my 32nd trip around the sun is going to be my very best yet. I have loads of ideas and creative projects just waiting to be acted upon. I hope to share more soon!
I’m working on celebrating the season of life that I am in, giving myself (much) more grace + patience, and really truly allowing myself to start projects even if everything is not perfectly aligned. That is definitely a flaw of mine, ha. I like when everything is perfect first but…that’s the silliest notion because we all know that doesn’t exist.
ANYWAY.
Thirty two will be a year of growth and I am excited to reach for the very best version of myself in all aspects–physically, mentally, and spiritually. Andddd I of course, will share with all of you, my dear friends.
I am so very grateful for you and for your unwavering support for this little ol’ blog! Y’all are the best tribe a girl could ask for!
