Eloise Belle is seven months old. How in the world did that happen so fast?! Andddd in total Holly fashion, Ellie is actually now 8 months so it’s even wilder (that update is coming soon!). WHERE DOES TIME GO?!
Ellie had a very busy and incredible seventh month–Eloise started to crawl and pull herself up on the couch.
I KNOW.
It happened so fast + I couldn’t remember if it was “normal” for babies to crawl or pull themselves up so fast. I had to read GBB’s past month posts (which was a sweet sweet SWEET walk down memory lane) to see when he started to crawl etc (SPOILER ALERT: HE WAS 10 MONTHS!) which just goes to show that every baby is different + Eloise suffers from mad FOMO.
We savoured the last little bits of summer–trips to the pool, slow days at home, and Eloise enjoyed her very first big wedding. Sissie really loves being in the water + kicking her little drumsticks + her new found freedom of crawling everywhere has been really keeping this mama on her toes. Ha, life with two littles on the go is unreal. I don’t know how mamas (and daddies) with twins do it. Ellie really just wants to keep up with her big brother and it’s really sweet. Now if only George would get the “sharing” memo, we’d be golden.
Solids foods are pretty much sissie’s jam. She is living for purees and pieces of mama’s breakfast/lunch/dinner–I started her solely on purees but have started to feed her from my plate, so I guess I’m branching into baby-led feeding. This is much easier the second time around (hashtag former nervous nellie) + I am thrilled to watch her enjoy foods. Sis is also the queen of shrieking with her food demands–if I am not fast enough to feed her or give her food, she will yell at me. Oh, and if I’m eating a snack or a meal, all I have to do is look over at her + sure enough Eloise is STARING me down. Like, just the deepest stare into my soul. It’s pretty hilarious.
Ellie is wearing 6-9/6-12months clothes + rocking size 4 diapers. She is still nursing loads (and I am not complaining–I love it) and is still co-sleeping. Well, everyone is in our bed right now, so…yeah. That is something that we are working on figuring out as a family–with a small two bedroom home–where are the kids going to do/do I want to put Ellie in a crib?/will I sleep as good as I sleep now?! I put together the crib + made a little nook for Ellie in the kids room but lord knows when we get these littles in their own beds…hopefully by the end of the year ;)
ANYWAY.
Eloise Belle, my sweet darling daughter (I still can’t believe I have a daughter!!!), you LOVE: nursing; your daddy–your face lights up when you see him + you have started to cry when he leaves the room (and my heart just melts into a puddle because SO DANG SWEET); your brother–George is your favourite + you love crawling after him and playing with all his toys (also, GBB calls you his “best fwiend” + it’s super precious); food (all food!); watching and trying to catch the cat; hanging out on mama in the Ergo; and sleeping in (I’M WITH YOU SISTER).
Sissie, you sweet peach, you DO NOT LOVE: diaper changes–yep, it’s a new thing…you are the ultimate wiggle worm + trying to keep you still is really hard; long car rides/not being able to see my face during car rides (this is getting better, thank goodness!); waiting for food or waiting for mama to nurse you; when your brother plays a teensy bit too rough with you; and getting dressed–you like being naked + free!
These past seven months have been a mix of indescribable joy + a blur of complete wonderful. I truly can’t believe we’re here already and your first birthday is really right around the corner–the holidays just speed time up and I am working so hard to intentionally sit back and watch you. I absolutely adore you Eloise and I am so blessed to be your mama.
Happy seven months sweet girl!
