Happy Monday!
We had a very relaxing weekend celebrating our two year wedding anniversary! This might have been the first year that we stayed at home and in our neighbourhood to celebrate, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Friday night was eventful to say the least. Hubs and I packed up the stroller and got George settled and headed to a food truck near one of the local parks. We I was pretty excited to have a fun and relaxing Friday doing something new in our hood.
Holy moly, we had a serious ‘new parents’ adventure. George was super unimpressed with being in the stroller while he was still awake (and seemingly still hungry), so we did a whole lot of stopping and nursing on the sidewalk. To be fair, he wasn’t as upset as I thought he was; but I was losing my new mama-mind. I wanted to give up all hope of ever leaving the house again. Real talk, I felt so awful being so unprepared + when we eventually made it home (after finally making it to the food truck, the line being hella-long, and then making a few more nursing stops along the way) I bawled. My poor husband. We decided then and there that we need to really be much more organized and to cut ourselves some slack; hey! we’re new at this + GBB loves us and truthfully, everything was fine.
Because of our incredibly exciting Friday, Saturday was much more relaxing. I woke up feeling much better and couldn’t help but giggle at how upset I was the night before and how perfectly happy our little baby is. Oh mama hormones!
We did a lot of hanging out and we enjoyed a wonderful visit from our dear friends who came to meet George (and they brought us yummy food + sweet gifts too!). We watched the Toronto Blue Jays game (obviously!) and we geared up for an evening out. We had learned our lesson from the night before and really started the ‘leaving the house’ routine much earlier. Hubs, bubs, and I went to see Julius Caesar at Shakespeare in the Park, with a picnic and everything! I loved it. We didn’t stay for the whole thing though; mosquitoes were eating us alive + we were exhausted! Sunday was our official anniversary day (hubs bought me the most stunning flowers!) and we spent the day eating delicious food, cuddling our bubs, watching really bad reality television + the Jays game, and ended the night watching the sunset from our balcony. After George fell asleep, we sat out on the balcony and talked about our lives, our future, goals, and how incredible our little man is. Oh, and George totally smiled at his daddy and I’m pretty sure Aaron’s heart burst with happiness! It really was the sweetest thing.
I am really looking forward to this week; I have some craft projects to start + finish up, a few business plans to iron out, a closet (and house, really) to clean + organize, and a sweet little one month old bubba to love on!
Have a wonderful week!
XO

Great weekend review. Can totally relate as new mom and need to start documenting the first year :) we had our first stroller walk yesterday and yes, I ended up nursing my 3 week old girl in Staples. Lol. But it is all ok and good. Thanks for sharing. Also have plans to organize my closet.
