You probably noticed that the blog was quiet last week + it was for good reason! :)
George and I took the train to Ottawa to visit with my family + help party prep for my niece Aria’s 2nd birthday party (which was this past Sunday, the 6th!).
GBB and I had a blast on the train. He was incredibly well behaved (as per usual) and loved looking out the windows, smiling at the other passengers, and playing with a train paper bag (of course that was his favourite thing to play with considering I packed so many toys, ha!). We were offered two seats (thank you via rail!) and had a lot of space to ourselves + it was so perfect considering we had a diaper bag, the Ergo carrier, my heavy winter jacket, and a blanket. The coffee they served was delicious + GBB napped for a good hour and a bit + it allowed me to relax, enjoy my coffee, and listen to a new podcast (I’ve started listening to Ladygang and the Nerdist + they’re both pretty fantastic!).
^GBB + Gramma love
My mom picked us up from the train + we settled in quite nicely. George played/stared at/yelled at Gramma’s dogs and we had a few visits with Great Granny and my mom’s best friend. GBB was cuddled, bounced, tickled, and spoiled with gifts. It was so nice.
George was infatuated with his cousin Aria, auntie Sadie, and uncle Pat. Aria was so sweet with GBB; she would gently pet him + George would be so excited and super grabby hands. Ha. It was cute (and aggressive!).
^I was in the backseat of the car being smothered by balloons + I popped one…I was so sad.
Aria’s birthday party was a puppy PAWTY + I couldn’t resist buying some Paw Patrol decorations (GBB loves that show too!). Sadie had the great idea of putting plush puppies in a box and the kids could adopt a puppy and bring home a toy, a collar, some puppy chow (cocoa puffs, mmm!), and a paw patrol bowl! Cute theme, right?!
I can’t believe that Aria is T W O years old already. I can’t even imagine how my sister must be feeling. I know that every month that passes with George growing bigger + changing so much is so bittersweet but to have a 2 year old, holy moly. I was lucky enough to be by my sister’s side for Miss A’s birth + it was one of the most amazing moments of my life; one I will cherish forever. She was born on the 6th of March 2014 at 7:10am and she weighed a sweet 4lbs 15 oz. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her + I am so proud of the sassy and sweet girl that she has grown into. Oh, Aria Marie, I love you so!
Now that we’re back in Toronto, GBB and I are getting back into a routine + I am attempting to do some spring cleaning because I have spring fever like woah. Nothing makes me long for warmer weather like a trip to Ottawa (the snowbanks were huge!!).
I can’t be the only one beyond excited for new flowers blooming, puddle jumping, the smell of mud, and the chirping of birdies. Oh, and longer days! I can’t wait!
XO
