Quebec City literally stole my heart.
Aaron drove from PEI to Quebec City like a freaking champion and when we drove into Quebec City, I was really taken aback. Old Quebec is stunning + magical + full of whimsy and romance. I felt like I was transported to another country and it was lovely. Hubs and I decided right then and there that we would go back without kids one day + just enjoy all the charm that Old Quebec had to offer.
We parked the RV in a designated parking spot + made our way into the city on foot. We found some poutine + enjoyed some beer. The cobblestone and the old buildings made me swoon + we found a fountain at the waterfront and George had so much fun running through it. It was a great way to finish a long day of travel. We needed to get our sillies/wiggles out + decompress and there is nothing better than water play to do that, in my opinion!
We went to bed early that night + woke up early so we could get to Ottawa as soon as possible. I was very excited to see my family. My sister had a very small, intimate wedding ceremony in a beautiful local park in Ottawa but y’all know I had to take some floral matters into my own hands + I was thrilled to create her bridal bouquet and my brother in law’s boutonniere. Oh, and I made a few mini bouquets for my nieces + the floral arrangements for the table, too. Basically I lived my flower dream. It was really fun + flower arranging is so calming.
The kids played together so well and we all enjoyed dinner with family the night before the wedding. Luckily we didn’t go anywhere fancy because we were a noisy bunch, LOL.
Wedding morning was exciting–lots of makeup + hair time and sisterly bonding over music that we loved years ago. The ceremony was wonderful and y’all, my sister looked stunning. She was the most beautiful bride and I cried. A lot. I’m just so proud and happy, ya know?!
Sadie and my brother in law took off on a weekend honeymoon away + Aaron, the kids and I got our booties back into the RV and drove to our very last stop on our RV Adventure. We decided to do two nights at a campground in Prince Edward County, close to Sandbanks. It was the very best way to have a final wind-down before we got back to reality.
At this point in our trip, Aaron + I considered buying a RV and running away and living in it. LOL. We just loved it so much. The campground was really great and we had some wonderful beach time. It was relaxing and oh gosh, just thinking about it makes me a little weepy. It was so good. The whole trip was just such bliss. Even the moments when we were tired + cranky + overstimulated.
Our RV Adventure was a trip that I will always look back on fondly. I will always look back + smile. It was such a bonding trip for our family and it was exciting and different + watching George explore and enjoy different places. He went with the flow really well. He was the perfect travelling buddy + was very helpful with all things. He especially loved having the RV keys and making sure all the compartments were locked outside (even the sewer where the poop goes–he loved it. Loves poop, haha), and pressing the button to make the awning go in the right position. He talks about our RV all the time. He tells people about our RV trip. It makes me smile so big because that’s what I’m here for. The memories. The stories. The adventures. My family.
This trip really allowed Aaron and I a chance to reconnect and be with one another with no work, no wifi, no outside distractions. Just us and our beautiful family that we created. Isn’t that the craziest concept?! Like. We created this family.
ANYWAY.
It was so wonderful + I feel so deeply grateful. As always, I really want to thank y’all for supporting our little family and for following along our adventures. It feels really nice to share our legacy with each and everyone one of you.
XO
