I vividly remember last Halloween while pregnant with Eloise, dreaming about our family of four costume.
Two weeks ago, it was understood that we were all dressing up as classic Halloween costumes as George was determined to be a ghost. But lo and behold, dude played with a Batman LEGO duplo set at Thanksgiving + it totally changed his plan.
Obviously Halloween is totally for him so I quickly made the call to buy some Batman + Robin costumes for the kids and get geared up for our superhero trick-or-treating!
We were so fortunate to have Aunt Susie come visit + join in on the trick-or-treat fun! She even dressed up as the penguin! It was awesome and let’s be real, Batman Returns is the best Batman movie.
I was thrilled to be Cat Woman + I successfully convinced Aaron (with loads of help from George) to dress up as the Joker. He stayed behind and gave out candy but it was so much fun making his hair green + using all my smudge and budge-proof makeup on him. He kept saying to me “I don’t need another layer of LipSense!” and I’m like “no no babe, we need three layers!!” LOL.
George, Eloise, Susie, and I went out around our neighbourhood with our friends–we had another Batman + a witch, a sweet baby unicorn stayed behind, a birthday cake, and a character from The Descendants (not pictured, sadly! Those girls were so cute!!).
The kids had a great time + it was such a village moment. I feel very thankful to have great mama friends who helped George get up steps while I stayed back with Ellie in the stroller or with her in the Ergo. We lasted an hour and a half + had a total blast.
And once we were home, we dove into some treats + then the power went out!!! The power went out in our neighbourhood + it was so spooky and festive. Candles all over the house and George fell asleep on the couch cuddling me! I was fortunate to have Eloise go down quickly and easy 30 minutes before so I could have real good solo snuggle time with my sweetest superhero.
Now that Halloween is officially over, the treats are hiding and the decorations are down aaaaand you better believe I watched the Holiday today.
I can’t wait to share some fun holiday content! And this year is Eloise’s first Christmas!!!! I can’t even wait. Cue the Frank Sinatra Christmas album…
