Happy Halloween friends!
Before our day gets going + the sugar starts flowing, I thought it would be a great time to share some of the Halloween books that we discovered this year and have truly fallen in love with.
I grew up reading a lot and it had everything to do with my mother’s love of reading + our weekly trips to the library. It is one of my favourite memories of my childhood + it really makes me so happy that the love of reading was instilled in my sister and I; I hope to do the same with my children. Because, ahhh reading–is there anything better?!
I’m always on the hunt for festive books to add to our library + this year, I really feel like we hit the jackpot and have been enjoying these cute books every night. Aaaand every day pretty much as George has really started to gravitate towards books on his own + I will never say no to taking a break from whatever to sit and read!
Here are a few of our favourites!
GILBERT THE GHOST. Okay, this book is seriously so cute. This ghost is friendly + has impeccable interior design style and the illustrations are so sweet.
HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS WITH A GHOST. Not only are the illustrations so darling but the book is full of instructions on how to take care of your ghost friends! George loved the pictures + I was laughing at all the hidden details within the story. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
LITTLE BLUE TRUCK’S HALLOWEEN. We are a big fan of the Little Blue Truck books + this one is so fun! I mean, who doesn’t love a great lift the flap book?! All your favourite farm animals + Little Blue dressed up in cute costumes.
NO SUCH THING. I bought this book solely because the cover is literally perfection. I mean, how flipping cute! And the story is so sweet too–all about ghosts! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
EEEK! HALLOWEEN! Sandra Boynton books are a huge fan favourite over here! These little books are absolutely perfect for little hands + the stories are so silly. Love this book!
BABY LIT’s DRACULA. I’m obsessed with the Baby Lit books so it is no secret that I would love Dracula for my little ones. Incredible illustrations + this board book focuses on counting! Great for little hands and George is really interested in the counting!
A few other books that I have my eye on for next year:
BERENSTAIN BEARS TRICK OR TREAT.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN LITTLE CRITTER.
Nothing better than some classic books from my childhood to pass on to my kids!
Anddd of course I love buying books for or home library, I’m also a huge advocate for utilizing the library! So, we often will go there + pick 3-5 books all within the same theme that we’re interested in for that week (often times, it’s trucks–I know, you’re surprised right?!).
Do you have any favourite Halloween books?! Let me know!
Have a safe + fun Halloween!
