I have always been a huge sucker for home decor and styling. I`m the first to buy a house & home magazine and I geekily savour each page! I think if I was better at math, maybe just maybe, I would`ve gone into interior design.
Having said that, I feel our apartment has miles to go in decor and feeling perfectly home-y. With work being so busy, this winter being so cold, and growing this tiny human, I have not had much of a chance to spend a lot of time on our home. There are few furniture pieces that Hubs and I have acquired over the years that we I would like to get rid of, but unfortunately, now is not the time to get rid of perfectly good furniture when we have more important & exciting things (and babies!) to invest our time and money in. Our next home, we will create my dream bedroom–chandelier and walk-in closet included! Oh, and a man cave/garage for my darling hubs!
BUT I am itching to get started on Baby B`s nursery. Like I mentioned in my last post, I have preggo insomnia from 12-2am most nights and I lay awake dreaming up our nursery for our sweet baby boy.
We are still in the process of cleaning the second bedroom out and organizing the rest of the house (and by organizing, I fully mean finding, buying, and putting up the perfect curtains for our kitchen/dining room/living room). I love the natural light in our main living space but a few panels of simple and modern curtains will make all the difference in my life. No more impromptu peep show when I`m being incredibly sexy and not going to the fridge for food zombie-walking to the fridge for food for those peeps across the street. Sorry world, this preggo body will be concealed with curtains!
I wouldn`t say I was in `nesting` mode quite yet but the organizer/type A in me is super excited about this phase. Would it be completely weird/freakish to hope it happens soon?! I`m pretty eager to clean beneath all sinks and organize all cupboards/closets and drive my husband bonkers.
Baby B`s nursery is going to be simple, bright, and monochromatic. I`m a huge fan of black, white, and grey & I`m quite fearful of colour when it comes to home decor. I like a good `pop` of colour but I`d be the last person to paint a wall a dramatic colour. I don`t understand people who paint their kitchens red; I appreciate it but I don`t understand it.
I’m thinking pops of navy blue, teal, and mustard yellow with wooden accents. To be honest, I`m sure gold will make it`s appearance; I can`t live without it. We have the sweetest vintage dump truck from Hubs` Poppa`s collection and there is no better place to have it on display than in our sweet little dude`s room. I am seriously coveting the sweetest Bandit the raccoon from BlaBlaKids & the Cream/Black Forest blanket from SpearmintLove.
I`m craving antique world globes & a modern and rustic gallery wall. You`ll understand my obsessions from my Pinterest board for Baby B here. All so very drool-worthy. There are so many inspiring and creative mamas (and daddies!) creating gorgeous and playful nurseries (and big kid rooms) for their little ones. I am overwhelmed and overly excited looking through the darling nurseries that have been making their appearance on my Pinterest home page; I want it all!
