With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I thought I would share with you some goodies that I have been totally crushing on + that I think would be a perfect gift for the special mamas in your life.
Floral Mug// Present Over Perfect// Rosé Glass// Rebecca Minkoff “Regan” Satchel// Saje Sleepwell Roller// Catbird ring// Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC// Rifle Paper Co Recipe Box
I’ve said time and time again how becoming a mother has really truly made me appreciate how deeply my own mama loves me and how wild life is when your heart is living outside of your body…anyone else feel like this?! I want to take back all my angsty teen years, haha. Sorry Mom.
ANYWAY.
Let’s get down to it.
So, basically ANTHRO take all my money. Honestly. Just take it. You don’t even wanna know how long it took me to choose one thing from their site because I just want it all. It’s all so dang pretty. This monogrammed mug is super sweet + I’m a sucker for floral, sooooo all it needs is some deliciously hot coffee inside and I’m sold. You could totally package it up with some dark chocolate or a favourite type of coffee. I don’t know many mamas who do not enjoy a cup of coffee/tea/hot chocolate/wine in a pretty mug, so this is definitely a YES.
This book. THIS BOOK is all over my social media + for good reason. I haven’t even had a chance to get my hands on a copy yet (hint hint HUBS!) BUT just reading the reviews and the short synopsis, I’m alllllll about this. I’m always on a quest to do better and be the best version of myself + this book speaks to me. I mean, who doesn’t battle the notion of perfect? If you say you don’t or have never, I DON’T BELIEVE YOU. Ha, but for real, I struggle with this + I’m really looking forward to reading this.
I mean, how frigggggin cute is this rosé glass?! These glasses are perfect for any girlie get together and seeing as girl time is kinda one of my most favourite things to do ever, I need to get a pair of these stat. I’m finding it hard to schedule girl time these days but when it happens, it makes this mama so dang happy. Like, it gives me life. SO. With that being said, I know I am not alone in this when I say girl hangs with some yummy rosé/cocktails/mocktails and a few decadent snacks are high up there in things that fill the mama love bucket.
Since my purse was stolen a few months ago, I have been on the hunt for a new bag that was versatile, trendy (but not too trendy), and that fit my style. I’ve always been into bigger bags/satchels/boho bags but have had a hard time finding the perfect one for me…and then I was browsing (read: drooling all over) the Rebecca Minkoff site and saw the Regan Satchel + I straight up fell in love and want one in every colour. This Regan Satchel is in Putty and I think it’s super fresh for spring/summer and I totally love the Cuoio colour too. Oh, and the Moon one too (the most perfect navy blue!). It may be a bit pricey, but ugh, I love it so much.
You’ve probably figured out by now that I am a huge fan of Saje Wellness and their essential oils. I have started quite a collection + am quickly becoming obsessed with them. The Cloud Nine diffuser blend makes my home smell divine. Like, it’s kinda crazy how it makes me feel so lovely. ANYWAY. A dear friend of ours (Hi Emma!) mentioned the Saje Sleepwell Roller for bedtime and after both Hubs and I smelled it, we were both hooked on the idea. I mean, a rollerball of calming, sleep-indusing essential oils that you rub on the bottom of your feet + it helps to support better sleep?! WHAT IS BETTER? Tell me, I dare you. This is high on my list of the perfect gift for moiiiii (and I’m gonna straight up say, all mamas) because sleep is not something that is always long/consistent/real, so heck yes to an oil blend that can help in ANY way.
I’ve been coveting a thin gold band for my thumb forever and my darling friend Justine (hayyyy girl!) totally pointed me in the right direction. I’ve always been a fan of Catbird jewelry but with the exchange rate being the worst, there was no chance I was going to order from the US. This picture is of stacked rings and I want one simple slightly hammered gold ring for my right hand + the best part is I can get it from a local store in Toronto that carries a few Catbird pieces! Hallelujah. I can’t imagine anyone not loving a dainty gold band as a gift. Such a sweet gesture + super on trend right now, so that’s fun.
Yeahhhh I couldn’t NOT add the Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC in Blush…hey, this gift guide gets directly sent to my Hubs’ inbox so…I’m not leaving anything out, ha. I love how compact this crossbody is, the blush colour is on point, and the hardware is cute and packs a slight edgy punch. Basically, IT’S PERFECT. And I want it sorta kinda totally bad.
And last but not least, an adorable recipe box! I know, I know, nerd mom alert. But hear me out. One-it’s adorable, you can’t deny it (I mean, y’all know my love affair with Rifle Paper Co. products.) and Two-who doesn’t want to have all their recipes organized and in one place?! I mean, I don’t know about you but when I get my recipes off Pinterest (which is often + PS you can check out my recipe board here), my phone/iPad doesn’t stay on long enough for me and then I have to constantly scroll back and maybe it’s because I can be quite frazzled during dinner prep (albeit wayyyyy less these days thanks to my meal planning) + I’m technologically not the very best, but there is something so amazing about a good ol’ handwritten recipe WHICH I’m hoping I can pass down to my kids/grandkids. Also, #sorrynotsorry for the above run-on sentence…). Point is-I want a recipe box + I’m not ashamed. Rifle Paper Co. has a really cute black polka dotted one that I really like too…
There you have it! My Mother’s Day Gift Guide! I hope it was helpful/entertaining but also gave you a few ideas of a little somethin’ something’ to gift the mamas in your life. Or better yet, you’ve decided that you’d like a few of these items and are going to email this over to your partner ;)
OH.
And one more thing.
The thing that I really, truly know deep in my heart of hearts: I don’t actually need any of these gifts.
Being a mother is the greatest gift there is. And, I know, you’re probably all barfing right now, but it’s important for me to communicate this. Yes, I’d like to sleep in on Mother’s Day (or any dang day!). And, yes, I’d love to have a fresh bouquet of blush pink peonies waiting for me when I woke up. I’d also really love a massage, and bottomless cups of hot delicious coffee, and a few hours to read a book/binge watch Riverdale (I’m so behind!). But this season of my life is the absolute greatest. This is the part of my life that I would play over and over and over again. I have a happy, confident, healthy, goofball of a son that looks at me with all the love in the world. He says “mama” in his sweet little voice + comes running to me with big smiles. Because of him, I get to experience motherhood and what I’ve learned about myself through him cannot be expressed in words. It is so deep. It is so real. It is so scary and so humbling and so insanely beautiful.
And that is the greatest gift.
Happy Mother’s Day! You’re doing a terrific job.
