Valentine’s Day is just around the corner + although hubs and I typically do a low key Valentine’s Day (last year we went out for Mexican food + super-sour virgin Margaritas!), I thought it would be fun to make a simple (but luscious) body scrub as a little extra somethin’ somethin’.
My hubs is a hardworking foreman and his feet + hands are always so beaten up by his hard day’s work. This sugar body scrub is deeeeeeelicious + feels incredible on our skin. This recipe is so simple + would make such a sweet gift for your loved ones. The recipe filled a mason jar full + I added a pink ribbon for fun. Oh, and keep this in the fridge as the coconut oil can and will melt!
Sugar Body Scrub
- 1 cup of coconut oil
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 20 drops of your favourite essential oil (I used lavender; but grapefruit + rose would be equally as wonderful!)
Mix it up and enjoy!
I honestly love this scrub + I know you will too! The coconut oil is so moisturizing, the sugar is a perfect “scrub” consistency without being harsh + abrasive, and the lavender essential oil is incredibly relaxing.
And for all you pregnant + breastfeeding mamas, make sure you use essential oils that are safe and blend with a carrier oil (this scrub is fine as the ratio of carrier oil to essential oil is good!) and as I am not an expert in EOs, definitely do your research if you have questions or concerns!
