As you may have guessed from my past posts or noticed from my sometimes over-share on Instagram (@holbowman), I love love love holidays and all things festive. It brings me so much joy; maybe more than the average person.
I know my hubs thinks I’m crazy when I get insanely hyper and excited about holidays; all I want to do is decorate and eat festively coloured food and wear a cute outfit! As St. Patrick’s Day is here and there is no green beer in my life (or Hubs even; he actually hates celebrating this holiday…weirdo), I thought a little festive treat was right up this baby mama’s alley.
Seeing as I indulge in one almost on the daily and have become quite an expert, I’ve decided there is seriously nothing better than a cupcake. I’m also a massive sucker for Cool Whip. I know. It’s cold and sweet and every time I eat it, I am filled with a mixture of joy and confusion. Because seriously, what in the hell is Cool Whip really?
Anyway, I thought I would top a few cupcakes with deliciously confusing Cool Whip and the luckiest of cereals, Lucky Charms. It’s cute. It’s festive. And, it is a treat.
As a kid, we never had sweet cereal in the house (and neither did hubs), so Aaron definitely gave me a hard time about buying the good ol’ Lucky Charms. My rationale is, it’s for a holiday, it’s a treat, and I have no shame. None at all. We will definitely pull these out for St. Paddy traditions though; I’m sure of it.
I’m also a HUGE fan of fruit these days and I thought what’s a holiday without a few healthy treats? A plate full of festive fruit; green grapes and kiwi is my kind of party. Delicious. And the sweetest of all things is this adorable onesie from Old Navy; it’s on sale! This baby is definitely shamrockin’ in my belly–day and night.
Do you have St. Patrick’s Day traditions? I’d love to hear them!
Have a lucky day and drink a green beer (or two) for me!
