Apologies on how quiet it’s been the last week and a bit! With Halloween, a wedding, a styled birthday party, starting my second round of Whole 30, and everyday life + baby snuggles, life has been busy for us.
GBB’s first Halloween was spent at the wedding of our dear friends, Andrew + Sarah, and it was wonderful to be surrounded by our nearest and dearest with little George in tow. He didn’t make it to the costume change time…he was already fast asleep in his Ergo, but I made sure to tie his little blue jay wings onto the carrier. I opted for a simple costume this year as my expectations of staying late was very low. Cat ears + masquerade mask for the win! It was an incredible night as we stayed until midnight (woo!) and GBB slept so well (in a very awesome side room) + hubs and I were able to get a few dances in! I was thrilled. Oh, and the wedding rocked, the bride and groom were so beautiful, and the food was scrumptious. I even enjoyed a full glass of wine during cocktail hour! Holla!
^ Uncle Jake, Hubs (omg! I can’t even deal with him. He sewed that felt Chef’s hat himself!), GBB+Me!
Of course, I dressed George in his little blue jay costume during the day + took photos and even made a matching mini costume for his little fox bestie Dougie. They are the sweetest pair.
As some of you know, I started my second round of Whole30 yesterday. I had done one + previously blogged about it back in 2014 and it was an incredible (albeit, challenging!) experience and I felt like now was the perfect time (before the holidays!) to hunker down and give myself a good healthy body reset.
This round has already presented itself with some challenges; cooking all day is difficult with a little bestie. However, with that being said, I am actually taking the time out to eat. I know, wild. I think I am actually going to have less of a hard time because I am actually sitting down and eating. Plus, having had the experience of a Whole30 prior makes it relatively easier for me to pin point what I can + cannot indulge in. Day two + going strong…
Now that Halloween is over, all I can think about is Christmas time. Ha. I have some great decor ideas and new family traditions that I’m dying to start up. You better believe we’re getting an Elf on the Shelf…even if we don’t have him getting up to no good for few years ;)
I’m fighting the urge to start playing Christmas music + buying all the holiday pjs for GBB (and possibly twinning him with hubs! My festive dream!), but for now, I am going to enjoy November + the pretty fall colours (and chillier weather). And maybe, get started on my holiday shopping…
Happy November my friends!
