I am so thrilled to finally share our sweet and simple nursery for our baby George! You’ve probably had a sneak peek if you’re following me on Instagram (@holbowman).
Hubs and I live in a quaint two-bedroom apartment in one of the greatest neighbourhoods in Toronto. As we are still renting, I wasn’t super keen to paint the nursery. I wanted the nursery to be able to grow with our little baby boy and who knows how long we will be living here…we’re dying for a backyard (all I want to do is have a BBQ and more space for baby to enjoy!).
With that being said, we kept it fairly simple but with a touch of ‘little adventurer/explorer’ theme. Oh, and books galore! That was super important to me. I grew up going to the library with my Mom and sister and we always had books everywhere! My personal favourites are the BabyLit books + the Toronto ABC book from Mini Mioche; the cutest.I can’t wait to see our little dude in his crib (he’s sleeping in our bed/his 4moms breeze bassinet in our room at the moment). How sweet is this custom From This Town pillow? One of my favourite nursery touches for sure! Amanda, the heart and soul behind From This Town, makes the sweetest modern baby gifts and nursery decor pieces. I wanted to buy so many custom pieces; her fitted crib sheets and her baby bandana bibs are some of my favourites!
George’s wall of books makes me so very excited and that glider was a piece that I had my eye on for quite some time. It is so comfy and pairs perfectly with our mustard yellow ottoman (hubs picked it out!). There is nothing better than cuddling, rocking, and nursing my little man in this chair!
The Keekaroo peanut change pad was one of the best purchases we made! It is hip, comfy, eco-friendly, and also incredibly easy to clean; wiping up messes and not having to do more laundry? Yes, please. The vintage globe was gifted to us from my Mother in Law; it belonged to hubs when he was a kid! And those vintage Cat in the Hat books? Also belonged to Aaron (there are crayon scribbles + love marks to prove it!).
We were gifted some sweet decor pieces: the knitted bunny (we’ve named him Pierre) was made by hubs’ very talented aunt; the ‘You are our Greatest Adventure’ print was hand-drawn by a friend of ours; and our cactus print (with our last name!) was created by another dear friend too! We are so blessed to be surrounded by such loving family and friends.
I hope my black thumb doesn’t kill these cute cacti and succulents + I’m hoping to get a few air plants in the nursery at some point too; those are pretty low-maintenance, right?
I had such a great time creating this little safe haven for our little one (I know I will be adding a few more decor pieces here and there) + I really hope George loves it as much as his mama and daddy do!
