George is 15 months old + has changed by leaps and bounds in the last three months that I felt an update on our little dude was in order.
Since his first birthday in July (his first fiesta post is here + his 12 month update is here, if you missed them!), George has gone from taking a few tentative steps here and there to full-out toddler running. He loves to climb, be chased, and walk everywhere. GBB doesn’t really enjoy getting in his stroller too much these days but once we’re moving, he’s a happy camper.
He chats up a storm with his favourite + most recent words being ” bub-ble” (bubble!) and “guuuck” (truck!). GBB is so chatty. We spend our days playing with his Little People farm + animals, trucks and cars (he’s obsessed with one hot wheel car that actually belongs to his cousin Aria which somehow got placed in our diaper bag while we were visiting at Thanksgiving…oops!), singing, dancing, and clapping. He loves to hide remotes, keys, toys under the couch/rug/anything. I am so thankful I get to spend my days giggling with him. He is so smart and curious, ugh, he’s the best.
George started morning daycare twice a week (more on this here), eats so much food, still enjoys nursing (although it is not nearly as often, cue bittersweet feelings!), has made new friends + has become quite the social butterfly, and is the biggest ham! He loves music, dancing, hulk-smashing toys, throwing balls and “vroom-vroooom”ing his cars + trucks all over the house.
He is rocking some hilarious mullet-hair which I refuse to cut because let’s be real, the only time a mullet is okay is when you’re a baby/toddler so business in the front + party in the back foreverrrrr.
GBB likes most foods but his absolute favourite food is blueberries. This kid goes through blueberries like it’s his job. He also really enjoys lentil soup (most chunky soups actually!), cheese, yogurt, crackers, peas, and broccoli. George and I share a smoothie every day after his nap (it’s delicious and we add so much spinach and chia seeds in it!) + he helps me prepare it in my Nutri-Bullet.
He has transitioned to one nap + is doing incredible considering the first two weeks of the transition was really hard…really hard. As you all know, I feel very strongly about gentle + gradient changes in George’s life (if I can help it!) and those first two weeks were hard because I hated trying to keep him awake + I “failed” a few times and put my sweet little dude down for a nap earlier than I wanted (but honestly, if the kid’s tired, he needs to sleep!). Being consistent was a little blurred in those two weeks, haha, but we survived and it’s finally grooving itself out. I’m so proud of us.
George enjoys car rides (finally!!), the occasional episode of Paw Patrol (we’re huge Rubble fans over here!), Bob the Builder, Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood, or Curious George (although, I have become very mindful of screen time in our home so we try to not watch every day!), and his playgroup on Tuesdays (which is over for the year but we are looking forward to going back in the new year!).
GBB has nine teeth and a tenth tooth on the way–it was super rough when his first molar popped through. I felt like it took forever to make it’s way into his mouth + George had such a rough go with it. He experienced his first fever and I experienced my first sick baby experience (and it was awful!!!!!). Happy that we came out of the week-long fog of teething hell…cheesed that teething isn’t over (and won’t be for a very long time!).
ANYWAY.
We have really enjoyed watching our little dude bloom right before our eyes. Hubs and I are often totally taken aback by the new things he is saying and doing. Aaaand his new obsession with sweeping. Like, this kid literally just carries our broom all over the house and just wants to sweep! It’s the cutest. He really is a wonderful helper. And can we talk about his new skill of giving kisses + nodding his head yes? Honestly, this little man is so sweet.
Oh George, I just adore you little dude! I surprise myself with how much my love for you just keeps growing and growing–just when I think my heart can’t grow any bigger, BOOM, it does.
Thank you for your infectious giggles, your hugs (yes, GBB walks towards me with his arms open wide! HEART MELTING!), your ability to make others smile, and your brilliance. You’re the best. Your daddy and I are so proud of you + we love you so much.
XO
