Fall is here, Thanksgiving is just around the corner, the weather is crisp, and the leaves are changing colour. Here at the Bowman household, we’re getting all geared up for the best months of the year + are so incredibly excited. Here are five of my festive favourites for this season.
DIY: George and I will be on the hunt for pine cones on our fall walks because this sweet pine cone garland is the sweetest! I love how simple it is. I plan on pairing it with a small string of fairy lights and using it to warm up our living room. DIY Pine Cone Garland.
Food: I don’t know about you, but fall means pumpkin spice everything. I came across the recipe for these cookies + I can’t wait to bake these up. These beauties may make an appearance on Thanksgiving weekend when we drive to Ottawa to celebrate with my family. Let’s hope they last the car ride. I make no promises. Pumpkin Spice Sugar Cookies.
Style: Ponchos are everywhere and I couldn’t be more on board with this trend. I’ve loved ponchos forever + actually still have the first poncho I bought in high school. I’m down with clothing that can be dressed up and down and look super chic (oh, and not to mention super comfy!). I could write a full post on ponchos, that’s how much I love them. My favourite ponchos here and here.
Decor: I know I am not the only person who loves pumpkins for fall decor. As we live in an apartment, I haven’t had the chance to buy a large pumpkin in years. Mini pumpkins have been making their appearance in our home and I adore them. Last year I painted mini pumpkins with white and gold, but this year, I am all about the naturally white and heirloom pumpkins. They really bring a little festive flair to our home without it being kitschy. White and heirloom pumpkins.
Family: Hubs and I are excited about creating new traditions and making memories for our little family. Aside from visiting a pumpkin patch and going apple picking, I love the tradition of writing down what you are thankful for at Thanksgiving. A simple but sweet tradition that I want to start with hubs + bubs.
What are your family traditions? Post in the comments below, I’d love to hear them!
