Eight months!
Oh George Bear, how you have grown over the last month! You are our very happy, super curious, smart, and sweet little boy. You are on the verge of crawling and are very concentrated. I hope your sense of determination carries throughout your life because there won’t be anything you can’t accomplish. Oh, and your furrowed brows are just adorable (you are looking more and more like your handsome daddy!).
You have been starting to sleep solo for a few hours at night in your bedroom and mommy + daddy are so proud of you! I like to bring you back into our bed because waking up next to you is heaven on earth.
George, you wake up each day smiling and you motivate me to have the greatest day regardless of what we do.
And yes, some days seem to blend together and are seemingly the exact same day but I know in my heart of hearts, they are not the same. For you, my sweet boy, are ever-growing and learning. Each and every day, you are just a teensy bit older and my heart bursts with every new sound you make, every new facial expression (your scrunchie face is our new favourite!), and milestone you reach.
You’re super interested in solid foods and we’re increasing your intake of foods + introducing different textures here and there. You love to nurse and we do so on demand + they are easily my favourite parts of my day. Nothing sweeter and more relaxing than our nursing time, even when you’re a little distracted and want to be playing at the same time, ha.
We are down to two naps a day + they usually take place in my arms while we rock on the glider in your super calm and dark nursery. Mommy falls asleep in there a lot too! Oh, and you are incredible at sleeping on the go too (thank you Ergo!). Such a city boy, ha.
You are getting even more interested in the world around you and watching the excitement on your face when the cat walks by or when you hear daddy’s truck backing into the driveway melts me. You’re the best, GBB.
You have four teeth + I think we have a few new ones coming soon as the drool is flowing and you are extra cuddly (mama’s not complaining!).
George your tushie fits into size 4 diapers and you are wearing size 9 month clothing. Your daddy and I held up a 9 month sleeper and we were super convinced it was going to be toooooo big. And then we put you in it + we were so impressed with how you filled it out, haha. You little chubba chub.
This past month, you went swimming with mommy and daddy; went on a train ride to Ottawa with mommy and played with your cousin Aria, your grandma and Pepere; and you went on the swing at the park!!
And with the weather getting nicer, we have been exploring our neighbourhood and enjoying stroller walks. You really love being outside + observing everything around you but hate getting sun in your little blue peepers! Me too baby boy!
You, my sweet booboo, love: nursing, eating food + hulk-smashing bowls together, smiling, giggling, clapping (it is the cutest), saying MAMA and DADA, having your photo taken, blowing huge spit bubbles, cuddles and playtime with daddy, Charles the cat (you literally love everything about him), swimming/splashing in the pool, bath time and chewing your bath toys, being outside and stroller walks, Dougie, chewing and slobbering on mommy’s phone (ahhh!), reading your books (I’m going to share what we’re reading in a post soon!), cuddles, kisses, and placing toys on your head (haha! it’s literally one of your favourite games; you can’t get enough!), playing peekaboo, and napping + sleeping on mommy (yep! lately this is the only way you will sleep in our bed…mommy doesn’t need ribs, right? Ha!).
You, my darling chubba chub, do not love: sitting in the back of the car by yourself and long car rides (but you did amazing on our trip back to Ottawa!), not being able to fully crawl yet (but your scoot and swivel is on point, baby!), waiting for food (haha, like your mama #hangry), and your exersaucer (let’s hope this is just a phase!!). Oh, and I experienced my first diaper change upset the other day; you were SO not into it!
These last eight months have been such a whirlwind and what an absolutely privilege it is to be your mommy! You’re my greatest joy. I love you through and through.
Happy eight months George Bear!
XO
