Crunchy Leaves + Pumpkin Patches

Aaron, George, and I were fortunate to spend the past weekend at our dear friends’ new farm outside of the city + the fresh country air was just what we needed.

We were in wine country and the weather was crisp and had a few bouts of rain; my perfect fall weather. There is nothing more cozy than cuddling up by a fire and hearing the rain outside. George and I cuddled a whole lot inside (while I indulged in magazines and coffee) while hubs and our friend Jake cut down a tree and chopped wood. Boys being boys + being so incredibly happy with their hard work. Not only did they keep the fire roaring but they serenaded me with tunes and made dinner. Winning.

I, personally, needed a trip out of the city to relax, cuddle with GBB, and disconnect for a little bit. My phone has been acting up (ugh!), so it was kind of perfect because I was forced to not be on instagram (my guiltiest pleasure!) + take in the beauty of the country-side. And, omg, you guys, there was a bonfire pit AND a clothesline. You know how I feel about this. Heart eyes for days.

Sunday, the boys and I went to Howell’s Family Pumpkin Patch and enjoyed the insanity of the local pumpkin patch. George napped in his stroller + stayed nice and cozy, thanks to his Elegant Baby cotton knit blanket (with his name monogramed on it; I mean, geeeeeez could it be cuter?) while I waited in the longest line ever for my hot apple cider + pumpkin donuts (obviously!).

This pumpkin patch was really cool + I can’t wait to go back when George is bigger; I know he is really going to enjoy it! There was a wicked area where you can slingshot pumpkins…definitely an activity that I will dominate next year + incredible displays of carved pumpkins and hay-art in the Wizard of Oz characters! They were amazing. And there were kids, strollers, and green cotton candy poofs everywhere.
