Oh hiiiii friends + hello September! How in the world are we in September already?! Anyone else feel like they blinked + summer was over?! I can’t be the only one.
As sad as I am to see summer coming to a close, I am pretty excited that we’re in a new month (and also I kinda sorta totally can’t even wait for the holidays—like, I CAN’T WAIT. I have already ordered some fall festive outfits + you better believe I have started my secret family Halloween costume board on Pinterest…).
ANYWAY.
With a new month comes a new boss babe! And good golly, I am loving this series. It really means the world to me to share + celebrate these beautiful and empowering women on HBXO and heck, I hope these ladies empower, uplift, and motivate you as much as they do me.
It’s September and I am thrilled to introduce one of my very best friends (she’s kinda sorta totally my soul sister). I’ve known Georgina for 10 years (almost 11 years!) and although she now lives in LA with her little family (her hubs is also one of my greatest friends + Aaron and I have the privilege + honour to be sweet Penelope’s godparents!). Basically, G and her family are our family. Life is just brighter with her in it!
Meet G.
Hello Everyone,
My name is Georgina. My friends call me G. I was born and raised in England. Moved to Toronto when I was 16 and started my career as an actress straight out of high school. I am most commonly known for my roles on The CW’s The LA Complex and Dr. Emily Grace of CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries. I met my husband on set in Newfoundland. We’ve been married for almost 6 years and we live in Los Angeles with our daughter Penelope. I love interior decorating, traveling and a good brunch.
Thank you for having me!
XO

I asked Georgina the same five questions that I asked Sara last month + I think I’m going to keep them the very same every single month. I think it’s just so much fun that way! Alright, here we go!
To trust who you are and to be true to yourself. That you were more right than you let yourself be and that having integrity is more important than “fitting in.” Also, that everything you dream of will come your way, it just may take some interesting side routes but they will have funny stories and you’ll meet some of your favourite people.
First off, I get the basic things back on schedule; good sleep (if possible), workout, food. I find when those things fall off, I start feeling off. Maybe that’s obvious but I find these things get overlooked by most people which then leads to all these complex ideas about what’s wrong! A long walk usually helps too. Then I make lists. I am a list Queen!! I make a list of all the things I want to address and work out how I will do so. Sometimes that leads to another list if the goal is a big one, breaking things down makes it easier to tackle. However, some days a good dance in the mirror with really loud headphones usually does the trick.
Oh my, SO MANY.
When I was really young, William Burroughs told me, “Build a good name. Keep your name clean. Don’t make compromises. Don’t worry about making a bunch of money or being successful. Be concerned with doing good work. And make the right choices and protect your work. And if you can build a good name, eventually that name will be its own currency.”
-Patti Smith
-Bob Goff
“There is only one you experiencing this particular day in your very own way on this planet. And that makes you deeply valuable. So please, act with the intention you were created. Be kind, do no harm, help others in your own unique way.” -Nikita Gill
SO. MUCH. FUN. That Patti Smith quote is just…unreal. Soooooo good.
Thank you G for sharing your story! What an absolute pleasure it is to have you on this little ol’ blog. Girls, do yourself a favour and follow G on her social media channels (FB + IG) + don’t forget to join my FB group to learn more about this brilliant boss babe! Georgina will be taking over the group every Wednesday of the month of September + I know she has some great content up her sleeve.
G, I love you something fierce–thanks a mill for sharing on HBXO.
You’re a real force to be reckoned with + a total inspiration to me.
