How far along? 23 Weeks
Gender: Boy
Total weight gain/loss: 15 lbs+
Maternity clothes? Yep! Maternity bottoms and regular tops (just a size up!). Now that the weather is getting nicer, I am itching to get into my spring jackets, scarves, and maxi skirts. Been dying for some maxi skirt action. Oh, and this sweet denim shirtdress from the Gap is super cute for spring (it’s not maternity but I think I could swing it)! With a sweet pair of all-white converse?! Drool.
Stretch marks? Nope! Nope! Nope! My belly is getting quite itchy and I’ve heard that if you itch, it will increase stretch marks! Mamas, is this true?!
Sleep: It’s okayyyy. I’ve always been a really fantastic sleeper, ask all my friends–I could sleep anywhere, anytime. Well, jokes on me. I am literally suffering from crazy preggo insomnia where I fall asleep and wake up feeling well rested AND ONLY ONE HOUR HAS GONE BY. This happens all night and I start waking up much more exhausted and utterly frustrated. To think it can only get worse.
Best moment this week: All the baby shower talk has been really fun! I’m having two showers, one in Ottawa with my family & friends and another in Toronto with my other family & friends. I love love love parties, so I am pretty excited to celebrate this little munchkin with everyone I love. Registering for baby showers is also SO MUCH FUN! There are so many cute things to buy for baby! I totally understand now how people can go overboard…I have to keep myself in check and make sure it’s really needed or really wanted…otherwise, baby stuff overload. I mean, check out this darling little wooden camera from Mini Mioche (this Toronto store is the cutest and you better believe it’s on my registry); it’s perfect for the nursery and eventually for playtime!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Other than my sanity, there isn’t anything I’m really missing! I am really enjoying being pregnant; I feel it’s going by really fast so I am trying to enjoy it every single day. I can’t believe I only have 4 months of work left! Ahhh cue sadness/freak out!
Movement: Yes! Baby boy even gave his aunties a little fist pump on Sunday at brunch. I was so proud.
Food cravings: Sushi. And I’m only craving it because I have yet to go get it. Honestly, I’ve mentioned it before but I am just hungrier in general…I want to eat more and more often. And I’ve been pretty good decent with my meal choices. Don’t get me wrong, I’d inhale a Dairy Queen dipped cone right about now. Oh, and chug a Kronenberg Blanc. And diet pepsi with lime.
Have you started to show yet: Yep! BUT a wonderfully sweet fellow baby mama saw my bump and told me that she wasn’t completely sure I was knocked up because I looked so tiny and cute! Thank youuuuu mama (I totally needed to hear this as I was feeling hella-pregnant that day).
Labor Signs: HELL NO.
Belly Button in or out? In but shit’s starting to look a little shallow and I’M TERRIFIED.
Wedding rings on or off? On :)
Happy or Moody most of the time: H.A.P.P.Y!
Looking forward to: Decorating the nursery, all the baby shower excitement, and our babymoon that we just booked! We’re heading to Montreal for a weekend getaway! Is it weird that I am most excited about the king size bed?
Our weekend was pretty relaxing and wonderfully sunny. I had an awful sleep on Friday night so I slept in as best as I could on Saturday and tackled the house with a full-out clean. I think nesting has begun (THRILLED!). I don’t think I have ever scrubbed my floors as intensely as I did on Saturday. Oooh it was so satisfying. Like I said, THRILLED. (I know, I’m weird).
Saturday night we had our dear friends over for dinner and we spent the night laughing, chatting, and cuddling their sweet little boy; I can’t wait for our little dude to be hanging out with his little friend Hudson! They’ll only be 10 months apart, so we are all super pumped; think of the photo shoots! We were going to bust out Cards Against Humanity as our friends have never played (I KNOW) but we were so chatty and giggly that we decided to save it for another day.
Sunday is my favourite day of the week (even though I suffer from Sunday late afternoon blues knowing that Monday is fast-approaching). I had brunch with three of my girlfriends at the Drake Hotel (one of my favourite brunch spots!) and we had the chance to FaceTime with my bestie G, who was miraculously in the same time zone as us! Brunch is my favourite. And brunch is my favourite with those I love.
I enjoyed the rest of my Sunday being lazy and enjoying the mild and sunny weather with a gigantic smile plastered on my face. I think Charles was a happy kitty too.
