It’s a… (and 19 Week Bumpdate!)

In my mind, I thought this balloon popping for a gender reveal would be the most beautiful + would look just like all those damn Pinterest pictures I saved buttttttt nope. Ha. Honestly, these pictures make me laugh so hard because they’re just so freaking real life. 1.The balloon was not filled with helium + my hubs blew it up as much as he physically could without passing out; 2. George was more concerned with the popping of the balloon + didn’t care about the confetti; 3. I was trying to make sure hubs was able to capture the actual popping; 4. The confetti is barely visible + it’s really funny to me; and 5. I love everything about these pictures.

Aaaaaaaand I was right! A baby sister for George! It was a long ultrasound appointment as the anatomy scans typically are + hubs and GBB didn’t join me until all the pictures were taken. The technician showed us baby + then asked us if we wanted to guess the gender. I was laying there like….um…”girl?” and I know Aaron had no clue what he was looking at. And she assured me I was right! I had a few tears + then we left the room. As we were walking out towards our car, hubs looked at me and asked me if I was happy and I fully cried ” I’M SOOOOO HAPPY!”. Oh, and then George told us he was excited for a little sister + we all couldn’t stop smiling.

I didn’t take a bump picture this week because I was so focused on the freaking balloon/gender reveal pic so that’ll have to do , ha.

How far along: 19 weeks (turns out I was measuring later than I originally thought so I’m freshly 19 weeks with a new due date of January 21st!)

Gender: GIRL!!! And over the freakin moon about it.

Weight gain: I’d say a healthy 12 lbs…ha.

Maternity clothes: Mostly maternity dresses and leggings but the weather is changing so this means it’s time for some cute fall maternity skinny jeans and sweater season which is easily my favourite season ever.

Stretch marks: No new ones!

Belly button in or out: In but shallow already. I am carrying this sweet girl so differently than GBB–my tummy even looks different, ha.

Sleep: It’s okay! Like every week before this one, I could always have more, but it’s going well. My body pillow that I used with my first pregnancy is being used by the little dude so I basically just line my body with pillows…and hubs gets like, one pillow.

Best moment this week: Hands down, finding out #littlebabybowman2’s gender! The day we found out (Thursday) I came home with the biggest burst of energy and cleaned my house. And re-organized it. And maybe the nesting bug has hit early? #notmadaboutit. It’s up there with one of my favourite things…plus with Fall right around the corner, it is the ultimate purge time for me. Anyone else feel like Fall is more like a NEW YEAR than January?! No? Just me? Ha.

Miss anything: Not too much to be honest. At least not this week!

Movement: Flutters and I’ve felt a few rolls + that’s always so magical. She is just so much more delicate than George–haha. Even on the ultrasound, she was super chill (she also waved at us!!). At this ultrasound with George, he was thrashing around + so very excited, ha. Obviously.

Cravings: I’ve switched from my decaf orange pekoe tea in the morning to a cup of hot chocolate + it’s pretty much my favourite way to start the morning. I think it has something to do with the Fall chill in the air…oh, and it’s chocolate.

Looking forward to: Feeling my sweet girl dance in my belly more and more + shopping. Ha. No but for real, I am so excited to shop for bows. What are your favourite shops for little bows for your little girlfriends?! Oh, and I’m excited for September and all the fun festive and holiday plans I have for me and my dude. Who literally calls girlfriend “SISSIE” and I nearly died. How did I get so lucky?!
