This was taken on our anniversary date night and oh my word, I felt so comfortable + chic in this dress. And, I wore heels! I’m always so happy to have an excuse to bust out some heels (as it’s not as often as it once was!) and it was nice to have a romantic evening dinner with my hubs. Hilariously, I ordered a steak with half lobster, and this is mostly hilarious because I’ve never actually had lobster before. But, like any wild preggo with cravings, I had been thinking about dipping lobster in garlic butter for so effing long. Well, my plate was presented to me and I literally died. Like, the claw was touching my baked potato. It had ONE EYE AND AN ANTENA. Also, since when have lobsters been so freaking huge?!?! Needless to say, I ate a few bites out of the tail + realized how much I didn’t actually like lobster. Like, not even a little bit.
ANYWAY.
How far along: 17 weeks
Gender: I’m still on the girl train and I think Aaron is too. Obviously we are going to be thrilled regardless + we just can’t wait to find out! Next week is our anatomy scan and the countdown is so on! And then the shopping will really begin…eeee!
Weight gain: I’m holding steady at 10 lbs and according to my OB, I’m right on track. Last pregnancy at this time, I was given the good ol’ “mix in some veggies” talk, haha. It really helps that I’m not cramming a cupcake in my face every day.
Maternity clothes: Yep, a few pieces here and there. I was given some incredible maternity dresses from my beautiful cousin who just welcomed her sweet second baby boy. Oh, and I am super excited to do some fall shopping + get my hands on some cute maternity skinny jeans.
Stretch marks: No new ones!
Belly button in or out: In!
Sleep: Sleep is good. I mean, I could always have more of it #momlife and I find myself so sleepy in the afternoon. I am thankful for afternoon naps with George. He’s just so snuggly.
Best moment this week: We had our 17 week dr’s appt and we finally heard baby’s heartbeat!! I’ve only seen the heartbeat on the last two ultrasounds we’ve had so it was pretty dang magical. It literally never gets old. Ugh, it brought me so much peace and relief (even though I knew in my heart of hearts that everything was a-ok!). I guess because I am so busy with George, I haven’t had the same time to sit and reflect about this perfect baby growing inside me that I did when I was pregnant with little dude that sometimes I forget I’m pregnant…I mean, besides my expanding waist line, haha. Also, woah run-on sentence.
Miss anything: I have so many projects on the go in my mind that I want to get started but I’m so bloody exhausted so, I guess what I miss the most is my full energy!
Movement: Flutters! Very slight flutters but they’re really precious. Looking forward to the roundhouse kicks ;)
Cravings: Sushi. Ramen noodles. Steak. Nothing really sweet except fruit (like, I’d sooooo eat a full pineapple right about now!).
Looking forward to: Finding out #littlebabybowman2’s gender! Eeee! It’s all I can think about. This pregnancy is just flying by + it’s so crazy! I’m also hosting an intimate baby shower for my bestie this weekend so I am looking forward to seeing/hugging her + her loving on her bump!!
